On April 22, the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, Extinction Rebellion DC is launching an ongoing planting campaign!

During this campaign, we plan to increase the number plants in the DC metro area that are edible for humans and non-humans alike; encourage people to re-evaluate their connection with the land and with nature; sequester some of the carbon that we’ve collectively emitted en- masse over our lifetimes; and make DC more beautiful.

We’ll be launching the campaign by sending out small teams to plant trees and other native plants in under-utilized areas. These teams will be following all of the best practices to avoid transmitting Covid-19. We’re also encouraging people to start cuttings and seedlings in their home.
