As fires ravage the west and smoke chokes the skies from Michigan to Hawaii, we extend an invitation to gather in grief to mourn the lives lost to the climate crisis and all that will be lost without immediate, urgent action.
🌳Join us Sunday, to march in remembrance of the people, plants, and animals of the West Coast that have been affected and destroyed by the fires and smoke, and in remembrance of the millions of others across the world already suffering the brutal impacts of the climate and ecological crisis. 🌳
💪We need a bigger movement to win a habitable planet, and by taking our grief to our neighbors, we’ll invite them in to climate action.💪
🔥Wear black funeral attire, bring a mask and a friend, and meet us at the south end of Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park by the fountain at 1:00pm to express your grief and outrage as we take part in a socially-distanced march to Dupont Circle, where the event will be welcomed to its close at 3:00pm with a vigil and space to share our thoughts. 🔥
Please RSVP so we know how much art to bring ➡️ https://actionnetwork.org/events/mourning-vigil *If you feel sick, please stay home and instead support us on social media at @XRebelDC on twitter and @extinctionrebelliondc on Instagram.
