Protest at US Supreme Court Hearing on Atlantic Coast Pipeline #Shutdowndc

  • US Supreme Court First Street Northeast Washington, DC, 20002 United States (map)

The US Supreme Court will be hearing oral arguments in a case to determine if the Atlantic Coast Pipeline can cross the Appalachian trail. This is the first time in years that a pipeline case has been heard. This is a challenge of pipeline companies' right to claim a "public necessity" to take private land through eminent domain.

The Virginia Red Rebels will be meeting at the Cannon Building (entry door closes to Capitol South Metro) at 8:30am. Note that entry does require screening. Then they will be heading to the US Supreme Court at 8:45am, planning to arrive there by 9AM. If you want more information about the details of those plans e-mail: redrebelalexandriava@gmail.com
